Hi Paula, I'm sure a lot of road warriors own multiple adapters because of similar situations. My guess is you probably won't forget next time. That's a pretty expensive cord!

I did use a charging kiosk at Blogworld, but it didn't work! I hoped the iPad plugin would work in the iPhone charger, but of course it didn't! I knew it...but I was desperate. Ended up taking a cab to the Apple Store for $60...all because I forgot the dang cord. Never again! ;)

You're hilarious! I have to go see if others liked your "spinsucked" on Spin Sucks. I think you're right in that privacy is huge for 2011. I think we're all tired of Facebook making our information public until we tell them to stop. Things change so quickly these days that all we have to do is wait until tomorrow.

Dali - it was only fitting to attribute the inspiration to the right place and give Sans a shout out as well. They are a great resource for that training.

Your idea about Social Media + IT Security is interesting! I definitely integrate my IT/Security background in everything I do. That sounds like a great opportunity, you are great with ideas!

If I do anything like that you will be the FIRST to hear about it!

Thank you for the mention. I am glad I was able to inspire you to write this post! I absolutely agree that the "biggest challenges for new users is there are not many best practices training programs." Hmmm... Do I hear you creating a Social Media/IT Security Best Practices training program? :-)

Thank you for mentioning SANS training as an option! Good personal choices is definitely the first line of defense. It starts with security awareness. We actually just launched the "Securing the Human" program to that end.

However, Social Media + IT Security is something I am definitely looking forward to learn more about. Glad to see you leading this effort.

Security has always been about people and the choices they make not just the software solutions they choose. Most security problems come down to someone making the wrong decision. No software, procedure policy, or any other solution will work if the people behind it don't use good judgment. That is why the threat of phishing is so much worse than most other threats. By getting people to make wrong decisions all their "safe guards" are pointless. Just as the Greeks learned you can't just take any old horse at face value.

Hi Lindsey, you've touched on a very controversial issue. All the pages you subscribe to are publicly available and there is no way currently to block this. It does not appear that group membership is public, but there is not much information on them.

The easiest work around to your issue is to create a second account and load it in a different web browser (i.e. if you use Internet Explorer install Firefox and use that for the second profile) so you can be concurrently logged in to both your main profile and your secondary one. A lot of people who play games like Mafia Wars and Farmville do this to avoid flooding their friends with messages. This is unfortunately the best work around. Facebook has taken a lot of heat for making this information public.
